BRIEF HISTORY OF FORMATION OF THE SOCIETY :

The Highland Cooperative House Building Society Ltd., came into existence in the year 1983. It was registered with the Cooperative Department, Punjab, Chandigarh on 27.6.1983 vide Registration, No. 671 as authorized by the General Body meeting through Resolution No 5 dated 29.5.1983. The registered office of the society is situated at Booth Nos 4-5, Society Campus, Zirakpur-Panchkula- Kalka Highway, Behind Kalgidhar Enclave Main Market, Baltana, District Mohali, Pin Code 140604. 

AREA OF LAND :

The managing committees along with other members of the society purchased land for its members from time to time. The society, as on date, has approximately 9 acres of land registered in name of the society. No provision of registry of plots allotted to the members is available. However, a member can transfer of his/her own membership after paying the requisite charges to the society as transfer fee and admission fee approved in the General Body Meetings held from time to time and as per the rules and regulations applicable to the housing building Cooperative society in Punjab. The possession of the entire land lies fully with the Society. The society has two parks having the open areas of 1259 Sq. yards for park No 1. and  639 Sq. yards for park No 2 with greenery.
The society has its own tubewell supplying clean portable water to the residents of the society from time to time fixed mutually by the managing committee and resident members.

CATEGORIZATION OF SHARE :—

The society has 104 members to whom the shares of membership are allotted and and is distributed among them into the following categories.

Shop-cum-flat plots (SCF) = 10 (Ten members having plot measuring approximately of 115.55 square yards).
Booth plots = 10 (Eight members having plot measuring approximately of 27.7 square yards and two booths having the same land allotted for office of the society on which the building is erected).
One-Kanal plots = 3 (Three members having plot measuring approximately of 500 square yards.)
14-Marla plots = 2 (Two members having plot measuring approximately of 350 square yards).
12-Marla plots = 2 (Two members having plot measuring approximately of 300 square yards).
10-Marla plots = 77 (Seventy seven having plot measuring approximately of 250 square yards)
6-Marla plot = 1 (One member having plot measuring approximately of 162 square yards)
5-Marla plot = 1 (One member having plot measuring approximately of 125.2 square yards).
